Check for Understanding- Student/Parent View
A Check for Understanding is an assessment created by a teacher in SAS. The Check for Understanding is sent to students via a web link. Students access the Check for Understanding anonymously and should not share any identifying information in their answers.
Accessing your Check for Understanding
Checks for Understanding are shared with students via a web link; to access please click the link provided by your teacher. If the link you receive from your teacher is not clickable, the instructions below work in most browsers:
- Highlight the link with your mouse and copy the link using the keyboard shortcut CRTL-C or by right clicking your mouse and selecting the Copy
- Paste the link into your web browser’s address bar by using the keyboard shortcut CRTL-V or by right clicking your mouse and selecting the Paste
- Press Enter on your keyboard.
Completing your Check for Understanding
Navigate to your Check for Understanding via the web link provided by your teacher.
The top of your Check for Understanding page contains information about the Check for Understanding, including the title, which is displayed at the top of the screen.
The Due Date, Number of Questions, and the Status of the Check for Understanding are listed in boxes beneath the title.
Assessment Incomplete means that the Check for Understanding has not yet been completed.
The Instructions section will contain any additional instructions that your teacher has included. If your teacher has not added additional instructions, it may be blank.
To answer a multiple choice question within a Check for Understanding, click the circle in front of the answer choice you wish to select.
To answer an open-ended, essay, or constructive response question within a Check for Understanding, click the text box below the questions and type your answer.
When you have completed the Check for Understanding and are ready to turn it in, click the Submit Assessment button at the bottom of the screen.
Note: This action cannot be undone, so please double-check your work before clicking submit.
After clicking Submit Assessment, you will see a message that your response has been successfully submitted and the assessment is complete. You may close out of the Check for Understanding at this time.
