To access the Website Creator, click Website Creator on the My Website menu.
The Website Creator shows the live view of your website, and allows you to click into the sections you wish to edit in order to edit in-line. Click onto each section you wish to edit. A text editor box will then open.
To edit the Shared Website Header, click in the box at the top of the page (see image above), then enter the text you wish to display, and finally click the Save button.
To edit the Website header, click on the header box (see image below), then enter the text you wish to display, and finally click the Save button.
Clicking into the webpage below the "Home" bar will open a text editor. Add your content in the editor. Click the Save button when you have added your information.
This editor allows you to format text as well as to insert images, video, and items from your ePortfolio. To insert an item from your ePortfolio, click the Insert menu option, and select From ePortfolio on the drop down that appears.
Click the check box on the item(s) you wish to insert, and then click Insert Selected to insert the items into your website.
The inserted item will appear as a link in the Editor. When you have finished editing the page, click the Save button to save and close the editor.
The Website Editor (right side of the page) contains controls for a number of website functions.
To move within your site's pages, use the Find a Page drop down at the top of the editor. This drop down will display all of the pages contained in your website. Click the title of the page you wish to work with to jump to that page. The next three tutorials can be reached via the Find a Page menu.
To change the way your "Contact Me" page displays, click onto each section to edit.
To change the way your "My Blog" page displays, click onto each section to edit.
Click the New Blog Entry button on the Page Editor sidebar menu to add a blog. Give the entry a title and add your message in the box, then click Save.
To change the way your "News & Announcements" page displays, click onto each section to edit.
Click the New News Entry button on the Page Editor sidebar menu to add an update. Give the entry a title, add your message in the box, select a "Post On" date and a "Stop Showing On" date, then click Save.
Your SAS Website has a unique link that you can share with students, parents, or others who may wish to visit your site. To get you link, click Get Shareable Link and copy and paste the link from the pop up that appears.
To add additional web pages to your Website, click Add Web Page.
Note: Parent pages and subpages denote how your site is organized. You may teach multiple subjects, and might wish to make a Parent page for each subject (i.e. Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry). Within these pages, you may wish to add a page for various topics or units. These would be the subpages, and you would add them by selecting the appropriate subject as the parent page.
To edit the Header (the decorative section at the top of the page), click Edit Header.
Select a new image and click Save.
To change the background of your website, click Edit Website.
This section allows you to change the Font, the Background Color, and the Background Pattern. Click Save once you have made your selections to apply them to your website.
The final button on the Website Editor section of the toolbar toggles your site online and offline. The display shows the current state of your site. Click it to take it on or offline.
Click Yes to change the status of your website.
The bottom sections of the toolbar shows your Page Editor options. Use these to work with individual pages within your website.
Click the Page is Online (Offline) button to toggle your page on or offline.
Click the Menu Link: Yes (No) button to add or remove an individual page from your website Menu.
Click Webpage Order to change the order in which your webpages display on your menu.
Click the green arrows to move the pages up and down. Click Close to save your new order.
To choose a new parent page, click the Move Page drop down located in the Page Editor section. Select the new parent page. This will move your webpage to the new location in the menu and the Find a page drop down.
Click Close Editor (bottom of the sidebar menu) to exit the Website Creator.
