While it is no longer required that Pathways to Graduation Tool users utilize a specific, pre-made template, you may download a customized template for use with the PGT if you wish. You may also use your own files or exports from other data sources such as your SIS. Using the customized templates from PGT will ensure that your data is pre-mapped to the appropriate PGT field.
Click the Download CSV Template button:
On the Download CSV Template screen, you have two options, a flat file and a normalized file:
The flat file option is for users who would like to upload data in a one-row-per-student format. These files typically look something like the below image (a row per student pa secure id with each column being for a different exam or data point). This format is normally used when score data is in a columnar format per student and can easily be pasted next to each student id.
The normalized file option is for users who would like to upload data in a one-row-per-score format. These files typically look something like the below image (a single row per score with possibly multiple rows for each student). This format may be used by third-party software exports (such as by a Student Information System - SIS).
If you select a flat file, use the drop down menu to select the fields you wish your template to include. This step is not required for a normalized file.
After you make your selections, click Download to download your customized template:
The system will generate a template to use for the upload and will download it to your system’s Download directory. Locate this file, open it, and begin filling in the relevant data using the example snapshots above, if needed. Cells can be blank for the upload, but do not edit or add any column names. Save the file when it is complete.
